Here is a cool app!

YALSA's (Young Adult Library Services Association) Teen Book Finder is a free app to help teens, parents, librarians and library staff, educators, and anyone who loves YA literature access to the past five years' of YALSA's awards and lists on their smartphone.

Have an Android phone? Download the Android version now!

Have an iPod Touch, an iPhone or an iPad? Download the iOS appnow!

App features include:
  • a homepage featuring three titles from the database, refreshed each day
  • the ability to search for books by author, title, award/list year, genre, by award, and by book list
  • a Find It! button, powered by the OCLC WorldCat Search API, that will show users where to find the book in a nearby library
  • a Favorites button, to create an individualized booklist
  • the ability to share books from the Teen Book Finder on Twitter and Facebook
The android and iOS version of the app is funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. Both versions of the app were developed by Ora Interactive.

Library update!

The Northfield Public Library will emerge from its construction cocoon this Saturday, May 7th at 10 and everyone is invited to the Grand Re-Opening ceremonies beginning at 10 AM with a formal ribbon cutting.  In the meantime the library at City Hall and the 210 Washington site are closed as we move the remaining materials and shelves and to prepare the new space. The bookdrop is not available during this time, and so please keep your items until we open.

We will have new hours beginning May 9 with Sunday hours from 1-5 pm running through June 5.  New weekly hours are Monday through Thursday 9 am to 8 pm, Friday 9 am to 6 pm, Saturday 9 am to 5 pm.

The library will be closed at City Hall staring Saturday, April 30th

We will be closed Monday, May 2nd thru Friday, May 6th at both library locations.
Due to circumstances beyond our control neither bookdrop will be available- please keep your items (although nothing is due the week we are closed) and bring then to the Library at 210 Washington anytime starting May 7th.
Please join us in a GRAND RE-OPENING CELEBRATION on Saturday, May 7th from 10 am until 5 pm.  Ribbon cutting and speeches at 10 am!  Rain or shine! Entertainment throughout the day thanks to the Friends & Foundation of the Library.
Plus the kids can come meet Mo Willems' "Elephant & Piggie"

Jasper and Nate helped direct over 2,700 people to the Friends of the Library model train exhibit in the lower level of the Archer House. Yes!! OVER 2,700 people!

We have lots of work to do to prepare for the Model Trains at Winter Walk! We will be working at the City Hall Library from 5 on!  Remember we are volunteering to direct people to the trains at the Archer House on Winter Walk- all hands on deck!  Contact Kathy if you have any questions.
