Looking for a great volunteering experience!?

The Northfield Library's Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is looking for new members!

The requirements are:

1.  Must be a teen in grade 9 or up.
2.  Must be interesting in what the library has and offers for teen.

TAB meet the first Monday of the month at 7 pm.  Our next meeting is Monday, January 5th in the library's meeting room.  Refreshments served.  Welcome all!

It's official! TAB will have a team in the Trivia Bee!

Come "root" them on and participate yourself!! On Friday, November 14, join Quizmistress Jessica Peterson White and the Friends of the Northfield Public Library for a night (7-9pm) of challenging and fun trivia competition between teams of four.  Before the Final Round, there will also be a Heads-Tails round open to all with wonderful prizes for the winner!  

All proceeds go to the Capital Campaign for the Public Library.  A night with friends, neighbors, and knowledge--what better way to help make our library better!  

The 2014 TAB Team Members are: Jasper Egge, Cynthia Terry, Will Kruse and Gus Ohnesorge

We will be having our regular meeting this coming MONDAY 10/6 at 7 pm.  The Gambling kits have come so we can look them over as we plan for the Speak Easy on Saturday, Oct. 25th.  We have LOTS of planning to do!  Please bring a friend- the more the merrier!!

The Teen Advisory Board needs you!! 
1.  It looks GREAT on college and job applications.
2. It's service to your community.
3. It's fun and you will learn some new things.
4. Meet other people who want to serve the community and the library!
5. Only meet once a month.
6.  It looks great on college scholarship applications!  (And will put you in the running for generous Friends & Foundation of the Northfield Library scholarships.)
7.  Design and implement the teen summer reading program and more!

All teens are invited to HAVE A SAY in what the library offers to teens and tweens!  This year will be especially exciting with the library re-configuring of the library spaces!!

Members of TAB made some pet toys to donate to Prairie's Edge Humane Society!

Cynthia, Emma, Jasper & Nate helped make some pet toys that will be donated to the
www.prairiesedgehs.org.  We also discussed the upcoming TAB benefit garage sale!  If you have some extra stuff laying around please box it up and save it to donate to our "GOODS FOR GOOD GARAGE" sale coming up in May!!

WDI offers youth and young adults a variety of activities focused on life and work skills as well as career preparation. Our services and philosophy revolve around two basic concerns for youth and young adults:
1. Completing high school (or the equivalent) coursework and
2. Aligning their skills and interests with meaningful employment.
Our youth counselors listen to your needs and understand each person is an individual. We believe that everyone can reach his or her goals.

TAB Meeting change for January!


CALLING all teens! Are you interested in community service? Do you need volunteer hours for your classes or National Honor Society? Think about making a commitment of a couple of hours a month with the TEEN ADVISORY BOARD! TAB is a group of teens that want to improve and promote what the library has for teens. We meet the first Monday of the month at 6:30 in the meeting room. 


(Except when the gov closes school to due the COLD!)
